Sauleda have been manufacturing awning fabric of the highest quality since 1897. Their main factory is situated in Barcelona. The deep dyed acrylic fabrics they produce are considered to be the best in the industry for longevity, unsurpassable colour stability, atmospheric pollutants resistance, and maximum resistance to shrinkage and stretching.

All their acrylic fabrics have been impregnated with TEFLON ®. This creates a barrier effect and reinforces the water repellency of the fabric. Furthermore, it delays the adherence of soil onto the fabric.

The canvas fabrics for awnings by SAULEDA, S.A. also protect us from the incidence of ultraviolet rays. They disperse, absorb, and reflect the UV rays, thus preventing them from streaming through the fabric and therefore avoiding direct skin contact.

The UV protection is progressively higher or lower, depending on the intensity of the colours.

In association with AITEX (an Official Laboratory) and the ASSOCIATION OF TESTS FOR THE APPLIED PROTECTION OF ULTRAVIOLET (UV) RAYS, Sauleda, S. A. has conducted a study to investigate the behaviour of its designs when exposed to UV radiation in their original form. The designs subsequently undergo a number of treatments involving their more traditional uses and an ageing process.

The results of such study, which involves certain analysis and tests, provide protection (UV) factors expressed with values so that the higher the number, the greater the protection, all our fabrics have a guide to their UV rating.
